Research Feminario
Feminisms and Resistances

The Research Feminario Feminisms and Resistances emerged from the pioneering Research Feminario Theories and Practices, founded at the University of Vigo in 1996, and converged in the creation of BiFeGa in 2017. We operate on two main research axes:

Feminario I: Globalization Studies. Interdisciplinary study of cultural production in the context of globalization, using methodologies from decolonial and feminist studies, affect theory, and critical posthumanism, with special attention to the treatment of difference in globalized cultures, the hegemony of Anglophone culture, and the circulation of other cultural products through translation.

Feminario II: Feminisms and Resistances. Study of feminist, postcolonial, and decolonial theories, as well as critical analysis from the intersection of these frameworks of Anglophone cultural production (literary, audiovisual, and other forms of popular culture).
